Well…Kade had to go back to work today  🙁  I really didn’t want to see him go, but we’ve got to pay for this place somehow!  So I went up to the house this afternoon and worked on removing the tile in front of the front door.  It’s a dark grey, almost black slate.  I actually kind of like it…maybe we’ll put it somewhere else!  It came up SOOO easily…they had glued it down!

Look at those grout lines…they just broke apart in pieces!  ALL tile should be that easy to remove (but only when you want it to be, ha!)

Done!  That was easy…and look, I even cleaned up my mess 🙂

Kade worked tonight on pulling up flooring in the hallway.  OH MY!  What a chore that turned out to be!  It took him about 2 hours to get approx. 2 ft!  Whomever laid the flooring in this house was AMAZING!  They didn’t mess around.  If they’re still alive I’d love for them to come back and install the new flooring free of charge, lol!  They did the hardwood all the way into the closets and UNDER the door jams (so the flooring went in before any of the doors)  That means we’ve had to take off every doorway to get the flooring out, ugh!

 Poor Kade…I was pretty much useless at this point.  It’s not like we both would have fit in the hallways anyway…we would have just been in each others way.  My back was hurting so bad at this point.  I was in no way prepared for the repetitious motion of removing so much hardwood floor!
 Kade is the best!  He got that dang hallway done at about 9:30!!
It was time to call it quits for the night!

 Here’s a look at the pile of flooring in the back bedroom.  We didn’t even bother taking it out of there.  We’ll just pull the nails out of it right there in that room!

 Here’s the pile in the living room again..it just keeps growing!!  It’s got the wood from the old dining room and the hallway in it too….what you can tell is that the wall it’s piled up against is about 20′ long!
